Maybelline Vintage Leather 2013 collection on CLEARANCE!!

I just wanted to write a quick post in case a few people were interested in picking up these polishes before they were sold out.  The Maybelline Vintage Leather nail polish collection is on clearance at Rite Aid for $1.99.  I just picked up Plush Plum and will let you know what I think when I get home from work and do a review.  Some people say it peels and crackles but we will see.  I tend to only wear polish for a few days so if it peels after that it wont bother me especially for the clearance price.  It is a matte polish made to look like leather but you can put a top coat on and it will make it glossy.  The new trend is to do nail art that's part matte, part with a top coat and you can very easily do that with these polishes.

China Glaze 2013 Halloween Monsters Ball Collection

China Glaze Monsters Ball Collection (2013 Halloween)

Boo-Gie Down & Fang-Tastic

The Monsters Ball collection has 6 Shades, 1 of which is one that they carry every Halloween season its the glow in the dark polish called Ghoulish Glow (Light Green glow).  The other colors are Bump in the night (Black Textured Polish), Boo-Gie Down (Clear Base with White, Orange and Black Glitter), Bat my Eyes (Dark Green/Black Base with Gold & Copper Glitter), Howl You Doin (Dark Burgundy base with Orange, Pink, and Purple Glitter, and Fang-Tastic (Clear base with Green, Pink, Purple & Blue glitter).

You have to love the Halloween collections by China Glaze.  They are perfect colors for Halloween and I always look forward to the new collections every year.  Down below is a picture of Boo-Gie Down over the top of white polish.  The coverage is great and the polish just screams Halloween.  They are a must if you are addicted to nail polish like myself.

Wet N Wild TV Show Collection & LA Girl 3D Hologram Polish

Wet N Wild TV Show Collection

I bought a few of the Wet N Wild fast dry polishes that were named after TV shows.  They are all glitter polishes with two of them having micro holographic glitter.  The only polish that doesn't have holographic glitter is the gold polish.  The colors are called Hannah Pinktana, Blue wants to be a Millionaire, and The gold and the beautiful. All of these polishes need a least 3 coats to look like the bottle.  They have almost a jelly like finish.

I also found another polish very similar to the Wet N Wild Holographic polishes.  This polish is from L.A. Girl called Purple Effect.  I know they have other colors from the 3D Hologram collection.  All it has in it to make it "3D" is that it has micro holographic glitter in it.  Its a much more opaque color that the Wet N Wild polishes, only needing one coat maybe 2 at the most.  I took a picture with all of the polishes together.  The Wet N Wild polishes were $1.29 and the L.A. Girl polish was $3.99.  I might have to check the price on the LA Girl polish but I do know it was a couple dollars more than the Wet N Wild (well worth the price).

Overall I think the LA Girl Holographic polish is a better choice even though its a little more pricey.  The LA Girl doesn't need as many coats and is much more opaque when applied to the nail.

Multi Colored Glitter Polishes......they are everywhere

Multi Colored Glitter Polishes

I seem to be finding more and more of the multi colored glitter polishes.  I love glitter polishes and I find it really easy to find dupes.  I have a post about the sinful colors and wet n wild collections, they are multi colored glitter in a colored base.  The other glitter polishes I have found are chunky glitters that are all colors of the rainbow.  The first multi glitter polish I seem to remember was with China Glaze Trapeze.  I'm gathering some of the multi colored glitter polishes for pictures but here is one that I just purchased called Confetti "Tazmanian Devil".  I also saw an exact dupe at the drugstore by Nicole by OPI "Confetti Fun".  The Confetti (Tazamanian Devil) polish was only $1.99 while Nicole by OPI seems to average around $7 in my area.  I held them both up at the drugstore and I could barely find a difference.  I also found a chunky multi colored glitter polish by Milani called "Gems" from their Jewel FX collection but that had more gold glitter in it than the other chunky multi colored polishes.

Thanks for reading.  I will add more to this post soon along with more pictures.

Nail Polish sale at Rite Aid

I was at one of my local Rite Aids and I noticed that they had an unmarked sale on Wet N Wild fast dry polishes.  The regular price (at least in my area) is $1.99 and it is marked down to $1.29.  So if you are at your Rite Aid take a look and see if the polishes in your area are marked down too.  I think this might be a permanent mark down because I didn't see this sale in the circular on Sunday.

Dupe Alert!

Dupe Alert!

I have another dupe that I ran into at the drugstore.  The colors are Sally Hansen Red Carpet and Milani Ruby Jewels.  I also noticed that China Glaze Ruby Pumps and Orly Star Spangled are also very similar polishes.  I included pictures of the polishes I have below.  I would get the Sally Hansen polish because that one is more opaque than the Milani polish.  You can't tell that well from the picture but these polishes are ruby red with small red glitter.  It reminds me of the Wizard of Oz and the Ruby slippers that Dorothy wore.

Update 6/11/2013: I was at a Rite Aid near me and found a polish by NYC for $.99 (I bought it for $.79 with my discount) and it was another dupe for these polishes.  I will post a picture tonight when I get home.  Its more like the Milani polish because its more like a lacquer and takes a few coats versus the Sally Hanson which you can pretty much use one coat and be okay.

I just don't understand buying a polish for more than $10 when you can find such cheap alternatives that really work.  If you are worried about chipping use a good basecoat and throw the polish in your purse that way you can do touch ups if you need too.  The only polish so far that I will spend $8 to $10 on is Orly.

Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy Review & Pics

Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy

I have recently purchased most of the Revlon moon candy nail art collection.  They have tons of other colors but this is just the moon candy collection.  Here is a picture of what I have below.

Left to Right:  Galactic, Eclipse, Supernova, Satellite, Milky Way

My favorite of the collection is Galactic.  I have 2 of these so I don't run out.  It reminds me of the night sky and the stars hence the name.  A few of the bads things about this polish is the amount of layers you have to put on and the drying time of the polish.  I like a lot of the art part on my nail so I have to layer it and it takes forever for it to fully dry and feel comfortable doing things with your hands.  I took a few pictures of my nails with the Galactic color on.

Thanks again for reading my blog :)

Fuzzy Coat nail Polish by Sally Hansen

Fuzzy Coat nail polish by Sally Hansen

I bought one of the new Sally Hansen's  nail polish from the "Fuzzy Coat" collection.  Of course  I thought geez could it really be fuzzy, haha blonde moment no its not fuzzy it just dries with a textured feeling on your nails.  I guess you could say it looks fuzzy because their are small bar glitters (if you cut the regular size bar glitters in half).  These polishes might look better over the top of another polish.

Nail Polish Dupes! Always making updates...

DUPE ALERT !!!

I have a few dupes to talk about for now.  I have many many more dupes to talk about in later blogs.  I recently went to CVS and bought Sally Hansen Mermaid's Tale.  I realized once I brought the polish home it looks a lot like the Milani polish that I have called 582 Teal.  Mermaid's Tale has a very faint blackish base to it that still allows the glitters to show through it just darkens the polish up a bit.  Milani's Teal has a clear base color.  I'm going to show both colors at one coat and then again at two coats so you can see the differences and the similarities.

Mermaid's Tale & Milani's Teal

One Coat:  Milani's Teal & Mermaids Tale

2 Coats

I like both colors and I'm glad that I purchased both because they are slightly different but if you are someone that is interested in seeing the glitter sparkle and be a little brighter I would pick the Milani color.  You can add the Milani color over the top of other polishes but Mermaid's Tale really wouldn't work on top of other polishes because of the dark base color.

More Dupes

More dupes that I have noticed come from the 2 polish collections that I have reviewed recently.  The sinful color polishes specifically In the spotlight, Bombshell and Fantasy are very similar if not exact dupes to a few of the Wet N Wild polishes from the toppings collection.  I also ran into a China Glaze polish that were similar to these polishes which were called Pizzazz & Rainbow Connection.   I'm sure their are many more similar polishes with the rainbow glitter I just have to find them.  Here is a picture of the polishes that are all close in color.
Flash On

Thanks for reading I will have many more dupe blogs to come.

UPDATE 6/11/13:  I keep finding more and more polishes that have the multi glitter look to them.  I bought a few from the drugstore so I will be adding them to the blog this evening.  Please always look for updates because as I find similar polishes in stores I add them to the dupes as need be.  Thanks for reading.

Pure Ice Nail Polish Collection

Pure Ice Nail Polish Collection 2013

I went to Walmart this evening and of course had to take a look at the nail and makeup section.  As I was looking around of course I spotted some new racks with pretty lights that made these new Pure Ice nail polishes sparkle like diamonds.  I picked out 4 polishes for now and am contemplating going back when I get paid to grab a few more.  They had quite a few glitter polishes to pick from.  The price of these polishes are just under $2.   For now since we are in the middle of a lightening/thunder storm I can only post one picture of the polishes.  I usually like taking a few pictures outside because the sun helps show the glitter.  Darkside has large round holographic purple glitter in a smaller purple glitter base.  Endless Fortune has a larger gold diamond shape holographic glitter in a smaller gold glitter base.  Sheer luck has larger pink and green diamond shape holographic glitter in a smaller green glitter base.  Dazzle me has larger silver holographic glitter in a smaller silver glitter base.

Orly's Megapixel FX Collection

This collection from Orly has 6 polishes.  Its a 3D polish that has a textured finish a lot like the OPI Sand collection.  The names of the polishes are Rose Pixel, Aqua Pixel, Silver Pixel, Black Pixel, Plum Pixel, and Pink Pixel.  The names completely describe the colors of each polish.  The 3 from the collection that I have a called Rose Pixel, Aqua Pixel, and Silver Pixel.  Right now they are buy 2 get 1 free at Ulta or you can go directly to the Orly website and buy them there.

Silver Pixel (L) Rose Pixel, Aqua Pixel (R)

I love these polishes along with all of my Orly polishes.  They wear great and last a long time.   Pick them up while they last because I'm not sure if they will be included in the permanent collection.

Sinful Colors Paparazzi Collection 2013 Limited Edition

Sinful colors came out with a new collection called Almost famous or in most stores its called the Paparazzi collection.  I am not sure why they would name the collection different depending on the store but I personally have only seen it called the Paparazzi collection.  In the collection they have 8 colors.  The colors are called Stardust, Fantasy, In the spotlight, Show Stopping, Paparazzi, Bombshell, After party and Lush life.  They are all glitter polishes and 2 are a glitter holographic polish.  Two of them are very similar to the wet n wild polishes from the topping collection.

 Lush Life (L) & After Party (R)

Show Stopping (L) & Star Dust (R)

Fantasy (L) & Bombshell (R)

The 2 that I don't have are called Paparazzi ( Magenta glitter) and In the Spotlight ( Seafoam green base with rainbow glitter). The other 6 that I own I would describe as:  "Lush Life" is a Blue/Green Glitter, "After Party" is a turquoise glitter, "Show Stopping" is a Light pink glitter base with pink holographic glitter, "Star Dust" is a magenta & purple glitter, "Fantasy" is Light pink to magenta color shift base with rainbow glitter, and "Bombshell" is a light green glitter base with rainbow glitter.

I would recommend these polishes.  The polishes wear very nice although I do change my polish every few days.  They are limited Edition so go out and get them while you can.  My stores in my area (30 miles) are starting to sell out of certain colors.

Thanks for reading my blog please follow me I do updates on Makeup and/or Nails twice a week :)

Wet N Wild Toppings Nail Polish Collection 2013

Wet N Wild came out with a new line called toppings.  These nail polish bottles look like lollipops which is kind of neat.  I have seen them out in stores for the past 2 months.  The collection of polishes are very similar and have an oil slick color changing property to them with multi color sparkles.  The thing that makes each polish different is one looks more blue in hue and one is more purple and so on.  I have 4 of the polishes from the collection because they really do look a lot alike.  One thing I don't like about these polishes is that they have just a tag that tells you the name and the tag pulls off easily so I don't know the names of my polishes I own ( I do know the single polish in the one photo is called confections of a Bake-aholic.  I suppose I will try and get the names for you soon, I might just have to take a trip down to the store and write them down LOL.  I have taken a few photos of the polishes in different lights so you can try and see the true color.  They over all are very pretty but I am not sure if I would buy them again.   I'm sorry I don't have more facts on these quite yet I just haven't seen to many reviews on them.  I will add some swatches as soon as I go to the beauty supply store tomorrow.  I will add the swatches to all my blogs so please look for them.

Thank you so much for reading my blog :)

Wet N Wild new nail polish collections Spring 2013

Hot Rocks Collection
Left to Right
18k Gold (Large gold Holographic Tinsel & Large Gold Holographic regular glitter), Caught on Sapphire (tiny blue ultra fine glitter & large blue glitters), Quartz of Course ( small silver glitter & Large purple glitter), Emerald the Crown Jewel (Small green glitter & larger green glitters), Rocking Rubies (tiny red glitter & larger red glitters).  I do not have the 6th color in the collection called Penny for your thoughts (Orange glitter).  18k Gold, Penny for your thoughts, and Emerald the Crown Jewel have holographic sparkle in it.  I didn't like the orange as much because it looked like the color of the polish muted the pretty glitter in it.  The color might be different when its on the nail sometimes certain polishes look better when they are on the nail and vice versa.  The Hot Rocks collection has many similarities to Orly's FX Glam collection. I will be posting a dupe blog soon full of cheaper polishes that are close if not exactly the same as many higher end polishes from beauty supply stores. For example Rocking Rubies ($2) is a dupe for Orly's Rockets Red Glare ($8).  I would pick these colors up since you cant go wrong at such a cheap price of $1.99 (Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreens etc..)  I have a few more close up pictures to help you better see the glitters in the polish.  I must say I LOVE glitter polishes.

Impress Press-On Nail Manicure

I have tried out 2 different styles of the press on manicures and overall I am excited to get more.  They seem to stick on your nails fairly good (make sure you clean and prep nails with Alcohol first).  I did carry in my purse a bottle of nail glue.  Some of the nails fell off more quickly than others so I glued them back on. Gluing them back on did make them last longer than the press on glue that came included.  So just note to self if you plan on wearing them for a few days make sure you buy some nail glue.  I peeled the glue off that came on the back of each nail and then glued the nails back on with the instant nail glue.   I included a picture of the bottle and a picture of the nails on my fingers.  These nails if you don't lose them should last for multiple uses as long as you keep them clean and buy the instant glue.  I plan on having quite the collection.

The bottle that the nails are in unscrews and the bottle opens in half.  You can just put the nails back in the bottle after your done using them (pick glue of the back with tweezers though).

Thanks for reading and I hope you all love the nails just like I did.

New Maybelline 24 hour Color Tattoos Spring/Summer 2013!!

These are the new Maybelline 24 hour color tattoos out for the spring/summer 2013.  It comes in 8 shades, and in my stores they only sold 6 but I'm hoping to find the other two soon.  These are the six colors that I have right now.

All 8 of these colors are limited edition so hurry and get them now.  They have been selling out in stores near me very quickly. The picture I have of the swatches don't do these justice you really need to see theses colors in person and in the sun because they change colors and have lots of shimmer.

I will add the 2 other colors once I find them but I do know one is a pearl color and the other is a blue that also shimmers pink.  The colors that I have starting from the top left is Lavish Lavander (pretty purple color), Waves of White (shimmers a pretty blue), Shady Shores (mustard yellow that shimmers green), bottom left is Cool Crush (frosty blue that also looks pink in some light), Seashore Frosts (blue that shimmers peach) and Icy mint (light minty color) My least favorite are the Icy Mint and Shady Shores. My favorite from the colors I have right now are Cool Crush and Seashore Frost.

Thanks for reading my blog and I hope to have many more new makeup and nail hauls to show you very soon.
